FAQ about Comox Community Centre

Satellite Galleries › Comox Community Centre

Where is the exhibition space located?
The display cases are located in the hallway to the left of the reception desk at the Comox Community Centre, 1855 Noel Avenue, Comox, BC. You're encouraged to visit the space in advance to plan your layout.

How big is the display space?
Each artist is allotted a display case approximately 7 feet long, 4 feet high, and 5 inches deep.

When is setup and takedown?
Setup takes place on a Sunday at 11:00 AM at the start of your scheduled exhibition. Takedown is on a Sunday at 10:30 AM at the end of your exhibition. If you’re unavailable for either, contact the Satellite Gallery Coordinator in advance.

What do I need to bring for setup?
Bring your artwork ready to hang with wire, a hammer, and nails. The backing wall inside the case is very hard, so be prepared to use some force or reuse existing nails. Also bring UHU tac to attach your artist bio and labels.

Can I include an artist bio or statement?
Yes! Including a short artist bio is optional but encouraged.

What information must I submit in advance?
At least 2 weeks before setup, email the following details for each artwork:

  1. Title of piece

  2. Size ( framed size in inches)

  3. Medium

  4. Price

This information is used to prepare the consignment sheet and printed labels.

Do I need to create my own labels?
No. As of June 2025, the gallery prints all labels. Just ensure your title and price information is submitted on time.

Is there a participation fee?
Yes. Starting in 2026, a $5 participation fee will be required to help cover administrative work, setup, and label printing.

What commission does the gallery take?
The gallery retains a 20% commission on all artwork sold during the exhibition.

When and how will I receive payment for any sales?
Payments are issued by email transfer, typically within one week after the exhibition ends.

Who do I contact with questions or scheduling issues?
Please email the Satellite Gallery Coordinator at: sat.gal.coordinator@pearlellisgallery.ca
