Thank you Flourish Artists

Our Summer Members’ Show, Flourish, is wrapping up on June 21! Thank you to everyone who contributed — this show has been a standout. The artists’ energy came through in so many ways, making Flourish feel both connected and full of unique voices. That spirit has resonated with visitors too, with four paintings sold so far.

Coming Soon, Duality: The Art of Contrast

Our next juried concept show Duality opens June 24, and we’d love to see you at the opening reception on Saturday June 28 from 1 to 3 PM. The exhibition explores contrast through themes like light and dark, strength and softness, and old versus new. Each artist offers a unique interpretation — come see what duality means to them.

Print & Play at Summer Fest

Also on June 28, we’re joining the fun at SummerFest with a hands-on printmaking booth right outside the gallery! Stop by to watch live demos of linocut, etching, and gelli printing — or roll up your sleeves and try it yourself. Make a print, take one home, and support the gallery with a donation.

We’re still looking for a few volunteers to help with the booth—whether it’s running demos, chatting with visitors, or handling Square payments. If you can lend a hand, we’d love to have you on the team!

We’re also accepting donations of printmaking supplies (inks, rollers, paper, etc.) and printmaking artwork (linocuts, etchings, geli prints, etc.) to offer at the booth. It’s a great way to contribute and help raise funds for the gallery.

Call for Submissions: Abundance

Applications are open from June 17 to July 22 for this non-juried Members’ Show. Abundance is an optional theme — members are welcome to submit any recent work.

Card Sales & Inventory Update

A note from our card coordinator, Rim:

“As blooms grace our gardens and fragrance fills the air, I am reminded that it is soon time to conduct a card inventory at the end of June. I will also prepare at that time a report for payment of card sales made during the second quarter of this year. Payments will be made through e-transfer (with a few exceptions) in July 2025.

At present we have 63 artists selling cards at the gallery. I would like to thank them for diligently monitoring their card stock and replenishing them, as well as remembering to send me an email about the new stock dropped off. If you advise me of changes on the day you make them, I can update the Point of Sale (POS) system right away and avoid any discrepancy between the POS and what is actually on the sale rack.

If you have never sold cards at the Pearl Ellis Gallery and you would wish to do so, you can start by viewing the Sell Cards webpage online under the Shows menu of the Pearl Ellis Gallery website. Then you can send me an email and, provided there is rack space, I will set you up with card codes and arrange to meet with you at the gallery.

We currently have a waiting list of 2 artists who would like to sell cards but there is no more rack space at the gallery. So if some of the current card artists would like to take a break for 6 to 9 months, please let me know. The board is considering acquiring more racks but this may take some time.”
