Programming
Support the planning of exhibition themes, coordinate timelines, and contribute to the artistic direction of the gallery’s annual program.
Involves two or three yearly planning meetings led by the Show Coordinator (board position) and the President.
These roles also provide guidance and oversight for the following positions: Administrative Support, Show Installation, and Satellite Gallery Coordination.
Administrative Support
Assist with tasks such as:
Organizing artist submissions
Preparing documents and labels
Communicating with artists
Supporting show logistics
Show Installation
Help with the setup of exhibitions. Tasks may include:
Assisting with artwork intake and labelling
Ensuring artwork is properly wired and ready for display
Hanging artwork
Satellite Gallery Coordination Team
Work with off-site display partners (e.g., Comox Library, Community Centre) to coordinate artwork drop-offs, pickups, and sales-related updates.
Schedule and communicate with exhibiting artists.
Pick up sold work and bring it to the gallery so buyers can pay and collect their piece there.
Coordinate with artists to replace sold pieces, ensuring a team member is present for all exchanges.
Shows rotate every two months.
