Spring arrives with light, colour, and a renewed sense of possibility - and at the Pearl Ellis Gallery, it also brings Awakening, the 2026 Spring Members Showcase.
Running from March 3 to March 28, this much-anticipated exhibition features original work by 40 local artists. From bold, expressive pieces to quiet reflections on the changing season, the show celebrates personal vision across a wide range of mediums, including painting, photography, fibre art, jewellery, and more.
An opening reception will take place on Saturday, March 7, from 1 to 3 pm. Visitors are warmly invited to meet the artists, explore the exhibition, and enjoy light refreshments in an inviting and creative atmosphere.
About her painting Bling Bird, Jahzel Misner shares: “I started this painting with just a name, Bling Bird. It began playful and silly, and somewhere along the way it became a mantra. In the spirit of Awakening, it’s about being seen in your own colours. Like a brilliant bird wearing a glittering jewel, it doesn’t hold back. We should all be this proud.”
The Members Showcase highlights the strength and diversity of the Pearl’s artistic community - from established artists to those exhibiting new work. All artwork is available for purchase, along with a curated selection of locally made art cards.
