Karen Hasegawa, a retired teacher, has been a lifelong artist with her background in graphic design and an education from UBC and Emily Carr. She has explored a myriad of art forms including, but not limited to: dyes on silk fabric, batik methods, acrylics and watercolours. Her work is an expression of the beauty and joy which surround us. She also loves photography, utilizing her photos for inspiration in her artwork. An avid gardener as well, her love of nature and colour are expressed in all her pieces with a style ranging from representational to whimsical.
