Abundance on Display: Summer Art & 2026 Opportunities!

Abundance Comox Valley Art Gallery Show

August Newsletter – Abundance & 2026 Opportunities

Summer is in full bloom, and so is the creativity at the Pearl Ellis Gallery! My kitchen—and my freezer—are overflowing with apples, cherries, raspberries, and blueberries. I even baked a pie yesterday—a sweet reminder of the season’s abundance! Fittingly, “Abundance” is also the theme of our current members’ show.

Just as the garden offers a rich harvest, our gallery is bursting with the fruits of our members’ imagination. Come by, soak it all in, and maybe take home a piece of that creativity—no canning jars needed! Purchasing art is a wonderful way to support our vibrant arts community, and original pieces make heartfelt gifts or treasured keepsakes for years to come. Plus, members receive a 10% discount on artwork at members’ shows, while the artist earns 80% of the listed price. That’s a win-win-win for the artist, the buyer, and the gallery! Bring a friend, make a day of it, and help us keep the creative spirit thriving in our community.

Planting the Seeds for 2026: Opportunities to Shine

Looking ahead, the 2026 exhibition lineup offers four Members’ Shows, four Concept Shows, and our much-loved annual Giftables Art Market. In addition, there are four open spots where you can propose your own ideas—plenty of ways for your creativity to flourish. The first big opportunity to get involved is the juried selection this fall—this important process will determine participants for all open spots as well as the first Concept Show, Shapes and Lines: Marks and Meaning (January 6–31, 2026). See the guidelines and tips for submitting proposals and start planning ahead!
