Awakening Members Showcase Comox Artists

As spring begins to emerge in the Comox Valley, March brings fresh energy to the Pearl Ellis Gallery. This month we celebrate the creativity of our members, share new satellite exhibitions in the community, and take part in events that connect art with collaboration and generosity.

Awakening Members ShowcaseOur annual members’ exhibition, Awakening, is on view until March 28. This lively show highlights the diversity of artistic voices within our membership, with works exploring themes of renewal, growth, and fresh beginnings.

Join us for the opening reception on Saturday, March 7, from 1- 3 pm. This is a great opportunity to meet the artists and enjoy the exhibition together.

Art and Found Day, March 12

Art and Found Day returns on Thursday, March 12, encouraging artists around the world to hide small artworks for others to discover.

Pearl Ellis Gallery will once again host a wrapping table at the gallery, where artists can bring their pieces to be wrapped and labelled for the big day. Join the fun and help spread creativity and surprise throughout the community.

Audible Art – Music for Makers

Join us for the first Audible Art, a relaxed creative evening organized by artist Nate Schmold. Bring a sketchbook or small project and enjoy quietly curated live music (ambient, electronic, and experimental) while you work or simply enjoy the atmosphere with other creatives.

This pilot event may become a monthly gathering if there is enough interest.

Hosted at the Comox Valley Lions Club, presented by Pearl Ellis Gallery and 30/30.

March 21
Entry: $5 (free for Pearl Ellis Gallery members)
Light refreshments available. No alcohol.

Call for Art Donations: Youth Mental Health Fundraiser

Artists are invited to donate a piece of artwork for a silent auction at the Glitter Gala in Nanaimo, supporting a new youth mental health clinic operated by Foundry BC, opening in Spring 2026.

Artists will receive a complimentary event ticket and exposure to the Nanaimo arts community (no charitable receipt).

Thank you to our members, volunteers, and visitors for helping make the Pearl Ellis Gallery a vibrant creative hub in our community. We look forward to seeing you at the gallery this month.
